As part of my Master's Degree in Design, I undertook a comprehensive redesign of a hand blender. This project served as an important element of my studies, allowing me to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical context. Subsequently, as part of my UX Design Specialization at the California Institute of the Arts, I revisited this project to implement the entire user experience design process. This included conducting a thorough heuristic evaluation to systematically assess and enhance the usability of the product.
The heuristic evaluation involved analyzing the hand blender against established usability principles to identify potential issues and areas for improvement. By leveraging these principles, I was able to systematically evaluate the product's interface, functionality, and overall user experience. This process not only highlighted usability strengths and weaknesses but also provided actionable insights for further refinement.
Through this iterative approach, I aimed to ensure that the redesigned hand blender would not only meet but exceed user expectations in terms of ease of use, efficiency, and satisfaction. The application of user experience design principles helped to create a more intuitive and user-friendly product, aligning with best practices and addressing real-world user needs.
